If you’re expecting a baby and suddenly realized, “Wait…was I supposed to book newborn photos already?” … this is for you.

There’s a lot to think about when you’re preparing to welcome a new baby, and booking newborn photos doesn’t always make it to the top of the list right away. Maybe your due date is only a few weeks away. Maybe your baby has already arrived. Or maybe you’ve been searching for a newborn photographer in Minnesota you connect with but assumed everyone would already be booked.

Here’s the good news: it’s never too late to reach out.

I recently had a change in my schedule that has allowed me to open additional newborn session availability for due dates each month, and I’m so excited to welcome a few more families into the studio and onto my calendar.

When Should You Book Your Newborn Photos?

Many families book their newborn photographer during their second or third trimester, especially when they have a specific photographer in mind. Because babies rarely follow an exact schedule, I reserve sessions based on your due date rather than expecting you to know exactly when your baby will arrive.

Once baby is here, we choose your actual session date.

But what if your due date is quickly approaching?

Reach out anyway.

And if your baby is already here? Still reach out!

While booking ahead gives us more flexibility, last-minute newborn sessions are absolutely possible when my schedule allows. With my newly opened availability, I may have room for your family even if you thought you had missed your chance.

Lifestyle Newborn Photography Without the Pressure

My approach to newborn photography is centered around something simple: your family as you are in this season.

You don’t need a perfectly sleeping baby. You don’t need to worry if your toddler is feeling extra energetic. And you definitely don’t need to spend your session stressing about whether everything is going according to plan.

Lifestyle newborn photography is about preserving the connection between your family and your newest little person.

The way they curl up against your chest. Their tiny fingers wrapped around yours. The sleepy stretches, little expressions, snuggles with siblings, feeding breaks, and all of those details that change far too quickly.

I’ll gently guide you throughout your session while still leaving space for genuine interactions to unfold naturally.

And if baby needs to eat, be changed, soothed, or simply spend a little extra time in your arms? We follow their lead.

There is no expectation of perfection here.

Newborn Sessions or the Bundle of Joy Collective

If you’re looking to document your baby’s arrival, you can book a standalone lifestyle newborn session.

But if you’re still pregnant and want to preserve more of your journey into motherhood, my Bundle of Joy Collective combines your maternity and newborn photography experiences.

Your maternity session celebrates the anticipation — your changing body, your connection with your baby, and your family right before everything changes.

Then, your newborn session captures the chapter that follows.

Together, the two sessions tell a fuller story of the season that brought your baby into your arms.

Should I Still Inquire If My Due Date Is Soon?

Yes. Always.

One of the biggest things I want expecting parents to know is that you should never assume it’s too late without asking.

Photographers’ schedules change. Babies arrive early or late. Sessions move around. And sometimes an opening becomes available at exactly the right time.

With my recent schedule change, I now have additional availability for newborn due dates each month, including opportunities for families who may be booking closer to their due date than they originally planned.

So whether you’re months away, weeks away, or already holding your newborn in your arms, reach out.

The worst-case scenario is that my calendar is full for the timing you need. But the best-case scenario?

I have a spot waiting for you.
